One of Congress’ staunchest advocates for those in the armed service paid thanks to those that help protect them.

Rep. Jackie Walorski told employees at Dynamic Metals in Elkhart that she was “grateful” for the work they do Thursday afternoon during a plant tour, according to the Elkhart Truth.

“At the end of the day, I can’t help but thank-you for what you do for our service members,” she said. “You help build one of the best fighting machines, the Humvee, that is used all around the world.”

Dynamic Metals makes doors for Humvees produced by the AM General facility in Mishawaka, along with doors for the Chicago Metra Line and windows for Amtrak trains, among other items.

The company has plans to hire 70 more employees at its Elkhart plant to add to the nearly 150 employees that already work there. Employees typically start between $15 and $18 an hour at Dynamic Metals, depending on experience, in addition to offering to train new employees.
