Boy, 13, recovering after being shot in South Bend

A 13-year-old boy is recovering after being shot in the leg.

Officers with the South Bend Police Department were sent to Memorial Hospital around 9:20 p.m. on Friday, March 23, on the report of a teenage boy with an apparent non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Officers learned the victim was shot in the area of Olive and Elwood.

There was no suspect information as of Saturday at 5 a.m.

This case remains under investigation by the Investigative Bureau.
