A local charity is helping brighten the lives of homeowners in a section of South Bend’s south side.

Rebuilding Together volunteers will be doing repairs on 12 homes during an April work blitz.

Those homes are in a section of South Bend bracketed by Ewing Avenue to the north, Michigan Street to the west, Miami Street to the east, and Erskine Golf Course to the south.

The repairs will take place on April 7 by workers from 12 local unions and on April 14 by volunteers. Everything from painting to roof repairs to HVAC replacements to yard cleanup will take place.
