Two shootings, two young boys hurt in South Bend, Elkhart

Police in Elkhart responded to a shooting early Thursday morning on West Garfield Avenue.

It happened just before 1 a.m. when and a bullet was fired from outside the home. That bullet traveled into the home and struck a 13 year-old man lying on a couch inside the residence in the side.

He was treated for a non-life-threatening injury at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. There is no word of any suspect information in the case.

And another shooting being is being investigated, this one around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of Fassnacht Avenue in South Bend.

Police say a 12 year-old male was shot in the abdomen while at a gathering where fireworks were being set off. Two vehicles drove by and began opening fire on the group.

The teen was conscious when officials responded and his wound is said to not be life-threatening. No suspect information has been given.

Mayor Butti tweet so predictable... July 6, 2018 at 7:24 am

Mayor Butti made sure he said “gun violence” in his little tweet. Seems to me that if he really gave a crap he would have said “all violence”. Just politics as usual for our beloved mayor Butti. When are you leaving for the swamp?
