Elkhart Community Schools, Wellfield Botanic Gardens and Elkhart Public Library community leaders will be celebrating the installation of the new book for the Botanic Gardens StoryWalk.

The book “Someone Builds the Dream” by Lisa Wheeler was chosen for its celebration of manufacturing and construction, both industries that are important in the community.

The book was centered in the Elkhart Community Schools’ district-wide elementary reading initiative, “Elkhart Builds: Readers, Dreamers, and Inspiring Leaders.”

The book left such an impression that community partners at Elkhart Public Library and Wellfield Botanic Gardens selected it for Wellfield’s StoryWalk.

Wheeler joined the community on Thursday as partners and families experienced the book surrounded by nature paths, and from now until the end of August, the community is invited to do the same. Wellfield is open from 10 until 6 daily.
