A LaPorte man has been charged with murder after police say he strangled his stepfather during a Sunday night incident.
Officers were called to Jefferson Avenue, where 58-year-old Aaron Stingley was reportedly having a medical emergency. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
Family members told investigators that Stingley’s stepson, Breon Ware, was responsible. Ware is now facing charges of murder and unlawful possession of a firearm as a violent felon, due to a prior conviction.
