Indiana is continuing its Summer Learning Labs program in 2026, giving thousands of Hoosier students free academic support during the summer months.
The initiative provides five weeks of instruction in reading and math for students in grades 1 through 9, aiming to help them stay on track academically and avoid summer learning loss.
State leaders say the program is part of a broader push to improve literacy and overall academic performance, especially as schools work to recover from pandemic-related learning gaps.
The labs are designed to reinforce key skills and better prepare students for the upcoming school year.
Roughly 12,000 students are expected to participate, with daily lessons offered at sites across Indiana.
