The shooting outside The Heavenly Goat Brewing Company at Heritage Square in Granger ruined Father’s Day plans for hundreds of families which had made reservations for brunch at The Uptown Kitchen.
The Uptown Kitchen’s owner posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page that, due to the investigation, the restaurant had no choice but to stay closed on Sunday.
The restaurant was expected to open for regular business hours on Monday, June 21.

The shooting took place around 3 a.m. on Sunday, June 21, during a party at The Heavenly Goat. One person was killed. Four other people suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Here is a concept. Make criminals pay for the cost of their violence. Some countries bill criminals for police, medical costs and the damages. Damages here would be probably $ 80,000 lost net profit from the closed businesses plus time and effort of say 200 diners? Just have folks submit claims through the criminal court When found guilty , charge them for the bill No need to file civil. Take it out of their pay and government benefits
Interesting that the article prominently mentions the SHOOTING, but no mention that the “party” at the Heavenly Goat was actually a Juneteenth celebration run amok.
It’s almost like they want to blame the guns and not mention the people…
